Employment Services – Job readiness and retention

A living wage job affords you the ability to provide for yourself and your family, and is a direct pathway out of poverty and into self-reliance.

At Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph, we can help you prepare for your job search, find employment and progress in your career.

A decent job is vital to maintaining a healthy, stable life. Part of our mission is to extend the tools and resources necessary to helping vulnerable populations (ex-offenders, those struggling with poverty, seniors, discouraged workers, etc.) find and keep work.

In our Job Skills classes, we provide:

  • Employment preparation
  • Resume development
  • Job search strategies
  • Interview coaching
  • Networking opportunities/job leads
  • Bus passes (as needed)

In today’s job market, “soft skills” are as frequently requested from prospective employers as hard skills, therefore we also provide training in:

  • Self-esteem
  • Self-advocacy
  • Conflict resolution
  • Time management
  • Job retention strategies
