Stories of Mercy

Using children's books to instill the Corporal Works of Mercy.

Stories of Mercy brings together our Children and Family Services team’s knowledge of child development, faith formation, and community connection. Through presentations, age-appropriate picture books, discussion, and prayer, children ages 3 to 12 learn about the Seven Corporal Works of Mercy and how they can care for and serve their neighbors.

What are the Corporal Works of Mercy?

Feed the hungry

Share food and remind our neighbors they are not alone.

Give drink to the thirsty

Offer water and care for basic needs with dignity.

Clothe the naked

Provide clothing that helps our neighbors feel safe and valued.

Shelter the homeless

Walk alongside neighbors experiencing homelessness and help create stability.

Visit the sick

Bring comfort, presence, and hope during difficult times.

Visit the imprisoned

Show compassion and remind every person of their God-given dignity.

Bury the dead

Honor each life with respect and care for grieving families.
