It was a sad day for young Brigid Duffy when her classmate, Kenny, moved away to Texas. Not because Kenny told the best jokes. Not because Brigid had a secret crush. No, Brigid had trouble seeing the blackboard, and Kenny kindly read it aloud for her. His departure marked the end of a long road of Brigid avoiding glasses, going so far as cheating on her eye exams because of her horror of failing a test. Getting glasses in the sixth grade changed Brigid’s life, and now, decades later and living in Texas herself, Brigid changed many lives by sending us 38 pairs of brand-new glasses for our eyeglass clinic.
Thank you Brigid—we see all the good you do.
