Each year, Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph sees hundreds of volunteers come through our doors. Whether it be assisting with special events like Christmas Shining Star and Outpace Poverty, or serving consistently in Employment Services and our new Lift Up Food Pantry system, we could not do what we do if it weren’t for the generosity of our volunteers.
This year’s National Volunteers Week took place April 18-24, 2021. We truly love showing appreciation to our volunteers at this time each year.
Our amazing Volunteers Coordinator Linda sent out t-shirts showing our appreciation, along with a fun crossword puzzle and encouraging message. We also featured some amazing testimonials and photos from our volunteers on our social media pages.
While this was not a typical year in many ways, and as we navigated things like shutdown, quarantine, and social distancing guidelines, this year was not without volunteer efforts. Since July of 2021 alone, our amazing volunteers generously gave over 431 hours of their time to supporting our Mission.
We pray for a continuous outpouring of generosity, and for an increase in the services we are able to provide to our neighbors in need.
