Lace up your sneakers to hit the ground running at Outpace Poverty 2021 on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Frank A. Theis Park. This year’s 5k Run/Walk will be an in-person event with a virtual component for those unable to attend event day festivities. Proceeds from Outpace Poverty benefit the programs and services of Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph.
Past participants have said, “The location of the race is a fan favorite!” Although Catholic Charities serves 27 counties across western Missouri, Frank A. Theis Park is located in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri. Participants travel through the Country Club Plaza, around the Kauffman Gardens, along Brush Creek and enjoy scenery around every turn.
The run is timed for all participants who wish to track it. However, those who prefer to walk or jog are able to support the mission of Catholic Charities while enjoying a lovely morning of exercise. The event is geared toward and great for family teams, corporate team building, running clubs or simply anyone looking to support Catholic Charities desire to eliminate poverty.
There are many ways to participate including as a corporate sponsor, participant runner or walker, as a donor or volunteer.
