August 30th is National Grief Awareness Day. That intense sorrow you feel when something terribly sad happens is grief. Grief is the response to loss, typically you think loss of a loved one. Though grief can also be triggered by loss of a job, home, or routine. Everyone handles grief differently and at their own pace, and that is totally normal! Take a moment to think about your loved ones and your own struggles today. You are not alone and Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph may be able to help alleviate the burdens triggering grief such as- loss of employment, housing or food security.
Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph has over 30 programs and we serve 27 counties in northwestern Missouri. While we do not currently offer counseling services, some of the programs include support and resources for: Housing, Employment, Adoption, Mom’s Empowerment, Veteran’s, Deaf and Disabilities, and a Food Pantry to name a few.
