Looking for a meaningful and flexible way to give back to your community? Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph (CCKCSJ) invites you to participate in our Meal/Care Kits for the Food Market initiative.

How It Works:

As a Meal/Care Kit volunteer, you’ll:

1. Purchase Ingredients/Items: Shop for the items needed to create a complete meal or care kit (we’ll provide the recipe for meals).
2. Assemble Meal Kits/Care Kits: At home, with family, or in a group, package the ingredients into bags and attach the recipe. If a Care Kit, attach the item list.
3. Deliver to the Market: Drop off the completed Meal Kits/Care Kits at our food market location listed below.
For each Meal Kit or Care Kit you deliver, you’ll earn 1 community service hour.

Want to go beyond assembling a few kits?
• Host a Food or Hygiene Drive: Organize a donation drive at your school, parish, or neighborhood to collect items for Meal Kits.
• Community Service Hours for Larger Efforts: When you gather donations, sort them, and assemble the kits, those hours count toward your service.

Why It’s Great:

• Flexible: Do it on your schedule, at home or with others.
• Inclusive: Perfect for families, school groups, or parish communities.
• Impactful: Provides essential meals or items to families in need.
• Tangible Service for Kids: This is a wonderful way to introduce younger children to the joy of helping others. They can assist with shopping, sorting, and packing the kits, making service a hands-on and rewarding family experience.
