Be A Star Thrower: DONATE

Today was another milestone day for me! Today, I applied for long-term housing. I have been working my cleaning job for 3 months now, and I am ready. Heather has helped me so much, I have all my documents ready: birth certificate, drivers license, my last paystub, a letter of support from my doctor, etc. We have reviewed my finances and I am ready to pay a percentage of my income toward my rent. For this, I am thankful; I am able to ease into everything otherwise this would be too overwhelming! Catholic Charities will cover my utilities and I get medical discounts due to my PTSD diagnosis. Heather asked me to make a list of my goals and we review them every visit. My own apartment has been on my list since the beginning and I am so close!

Soon, Heather and I will go look at available two bedroom apartments. They are scattered through town and they are not apartment complexes solely for people in my situation. That is a relief, I want things to return to “normal”. Heather keeps reminding me, I get to pick this place! If I don’t like the first one, that is okay, we will keep looking. I am very excited. And I am very thankful.
