On this day, September 5, 1997 Mother Teresa died from cardiac arrest in her convent in Calcutta. She is very well-known and revered around the world for her compassion and the way she provided comfort and care to the destitute, very sick, orphans, lepers and the dying. She is celebrated for her charity.  It is no wonder that International Day of Charity is celebrated in her honor today, on her feast day and her day of death.

Join us on our mission to help our neighbors and Outpace Poverty in our community. It’s not too late to get involved in our Outpace Poverty 5K on September 18th. All the proceeds stay in our community, serving 27 counties in western Missouri.  You can help by: participating in the run/walk, donating, or volunteering.  “Together we can do great things.” Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
