Nothing about this is normal. Regardless of your circumstances, this is a difficult time. Our routines are gone. We are anxious, even afraid at times.

In these uncertain times, there is an antidote to the powerlessness we feel as we weather social distancing and see the effects of COVID-19 on neighbors, friends and family. It is kindness and charity.

Start with yourself. Here’s some ideas to help manage when it all gets to be too much.

  • Give yourself plenty of grace, and extend that grace to others
  • Encourage one another, a kind word goes a long way
  • Talk about what you are feeling with a loved one or trusted friend
  • Remember that this is temporary
