Adoption Services

Adoptive parents are able to make an extraordinary difference in the lives of children whose birthparents are not able to provide this setting.

Adoption means different things to different people.

To us, adoption means truly making the most loving and responsible decision for one’s baby, if parenting is not an option. It is giving you hope. It is giving your child the life you dream of for them. For birthparents, it gives them the opportunity to follow their dreams. For an adoptive couple, it is the chance to expand or create their forever family.

At Catholic Charities, we have been caring for children and families for 140 years!  Our agency began as an orphanage in 1879, and we have impacted thousands of families through our adoption services as a full-service licensed and accredited child placing agency in Missouri.  This long history of serving children and families shows the stability of our agency. Our longevity is one of many strengths to working with Catholic Charities.

In addition to working with expectant parents and prospective adoptive couples, Catholic Charities works with independent families needing home studies, adoptees wanting to find out information about their birthparents and more!

Adoption services keep individuals at the heart of the process, and services are tailored to your specific needs.  Click on the links below to learn more or contact us at 816.648.0555 or adoptions@ccharities.com.  Those facing unplanned pregnancies can also call 816.648.0555 to reach a birthparent coordinator.

Adoptees

You are most likely one of the thousands of children that was adopted through Catholic Charities between 1879 and today and one of the 1.5 million U.S. children who are adopted. If you are an adoptee wishing to search for birth parents, we can help.

Adoption has changed so much in recent decades.

This video can help you better understand adoptions today.

The theme of adoption is present throughout the scriptures, from Moses adoption into a royal family, to the often-overlooked fact that Joseph was Jesus’ adoptive father, to St. Paul telling us God has destined us for adoption to himself through Christ Jesus. (Eph 1:5)

Adoption is a beautiful picture of God’s love for us and Him welcoming us into His family. He has created babies, birth families, and adoptive couples. All are made in His image and loved by Him.

Many Starfish Need Many Star Throwers

The Bible tells us in Matthew 25:35, 40 this is what being a star thrower means. Putting on the heart of Christ means serving the least among us whether hungry or thirsty, help getting over sickness, or in bad situations. Christ did not come to be among the highest in society, but as a lowly servant seeking to save the isolated and cast out. The manger and shepherds were symbols of that, that even the simplest of situations can bring about the greatest of miracles.
